A TOUCH OF GLASS CORVETTE CLUB MEETING

January 10, 2012

The meeting was called to order by Bob Vehmeier

Welcome Guests – We welcomed Gary Guy (bought Ron’s Vette) and new member George Weber who owns a 1981 Vette.

Treasurer’s Report was accepted as read.

Minutes –Bob stated the minutes from the December meeting are on line for everyone to read.  A motion was made by Kay and seconded by Dan to accept the minutes as written.

Old Business

Window Stickers – The members decided to proceed with the stickers.  Bob showed three different stickers and it was decided to go with the one with our logo and website.  A request was made to see if we can get the red a little darker.  We can charge $2.00 per sticker – they would cost approximately $1.45 to make and there would be a $15.00 set up fee.

Club Pictures – We do have some pictures of car members, but if any member has a picture with their car that they like, please send it to Bob for our website.

New Business

Dues – The 2012 club membership dues are due now.

Plaque for Vann Gannaway – Discussion ensued regarding a plaque and Bob will look into a wooden plaque with plates that we can engrave each year.

GeorgeFest Parade – This will take place Saturday, February 25th.  It’s the oldest parade for George Washington in the country.  Members need to tell Bob if they are planning on participating.

Club Picnic – We had originally though April 7th was a good day for our picnic, but that will be the Trains, Planes event in Tavares.   It was decided that March 31st will be the new date and the club will pay for the food.

Voice Recorder – Bob asked if a voice recorder for the meeting would help and Maureen replied that when more than one person is talking, etc., it’s difficult to be clear about the discussions.  It was decided not to purchase a voice recorder.

NCCC or Museum Membership  - For our club to join NCCC, you must have 51% of the club members join NCCC.  It was decided not to join NCCC.   It was also decided at this time, not to purchase a brick at the National Corvette Museum.  Rich stated that we needed to look at insurance for our club and Bob mentioned that maybe we needed to incorporate.  Rich stated he would talk to an attorney that he knew to see what we should do.

Past Events

Christmas Dinner – We had 31 people attend and it was very nice.   We need to get in touch with the restaurant earlier in the year, so we can book the room in the back.
